The story of the Canuti company is a tale of enthusiasm and commitment, of the care taken by craftsmen and a respect for tradition.

It is the story of people who have managed to make pasta not just a product, but a culture and an art.

It starts from the first steps taken by its founder, Mario Canuti, around 60 years ago, and leads to the generation of grandchildren who today, along with their fellow-workers, pursue this long-standing tradition.

The first steps were made in a laboratory of a few square metres set up for both production and direct sales. Then, in the 1960s, a production department distributed and sold fresh pasta in three sales outlets in Rimini. The continual demand – also arising from tourism – enabled the company to grow even more and to develop a distribution network over the whole of the Romagna province.

During the 1970s it started distributing in local supermarkets.

A new, larger pasta factory was created to meet the ever-growing demand, but with one constant feature: to maintain the Canuti tradition of craftsmanship.

In the 1980s, there came a new challenge: deep-freezing. This is, still today, the only method that enables all the organoleptic characteristics of pasta (without preservatives) – and therefore the Canuti tradition – to be preserved intact.

Canuti today is a leading company trading on the Italian market; its aim, however, is to bring its philosophy to the most representative international markets and to make the Italian culture of food known through its vast range of products.

Continual innovation, ideas and intuitions transformed into winning product ranges, a fast and accurate logistics service, a full range of products varying from shapes that are typical of the Romagna region, right up to more unusual shapes and pasta for baking in the oven: this all-round, continual commitment to customers’ needs makes Canuti what it is today.
